It will become more forgiving with lower-level humidity once it becomes medium-sized. Alocasias are known to drop its oldest leaf, so that it may start to channel energy toward its upcoming new leaf. It is expected that your Alocasia (of all kinds) will retain 1 to 2 leaves at a time, until adulthood. Best in high humidity, but not required (do your best)!
